Saturday Sightseeing

Thankfully, Tim was much better today so we could resume our sightseeing. This morning we went to the Arlington National Cemetery. We were able to see the changing of the guard and a wreath ceremony at the tomb of the unknown soldier. It was an awe inspiring thing to watch. So respectful and reverent. We also went to the Iwo Jima Memorial.
After grabbing some lunch we headed off for lots of fun at the Zoo. The highlight was the 3 giant pandas! So cute.
We will attend church in the morning with the congregation who is hosting us in our missionary home. It will be our last full day in DC. We will leave on Monday morning and head for the learning center in Richmond, Virginia. We begin our training and the kids begin their classes on Wednesday so we will have Monday afternoon and Tuesday to get our home set up. we are looking forward to getting there and to beginning our training.
We have had such good family time the past few weeks. After the stress of getting out of town, we really needed it. God has been so good to us along the way and we have had so many little treats that we did not plan for. We feel very blessed to have been able to have this time to rest and get ready for the next step in our journey.

Hey, Louderbacks!
It sounds like y'all are having a great time, but we really miss seeing you around here! I really miss seeing Trinity at school and my daily visits from Noah on his way to the clinic with Ben!

Panda says Happy Birthday, Trinity and Gracie Lynn! He is doing really well with all FOUR dogs and he fits right in the Gilligan household!

I really love reading your blog...it reminds me of what living for Jesus really means, including self-sacrifice and doubt, and that making his name famous in the world is the only thing that really matters! Thanks for being so real with your feelings and concerns. You have so many people who love you and are praying for you every day!

Love,
Lisa Gilligan
