My favorite person in Costa Rica

My new favorite word in the Spanish language is Empliada. An Empliada is a house helper. It is the norm for many families in Costa Rica, especially ones with 4 children :) to have house help. Our school has a service that helped matched our family with a suitable house helper. Senorita Regina began her work with us on Monday. I am so excited!!! She cooks, does the laundry and cleans the house. Basically whatever we need her to do. She will also be a great asset in my language learning as I will have to learn to communicate with her in Spanish. We went grocery shopping which was quite an experience! Since she will be making us Costa Rican meals I wanted to make sure she had the right ingredients. I followed her around while she bought a bunch of food that I do not know how to cook. So far, her meals have been very yummy. Tonight she even made spaghetti just like home! It will be a huge blessing to have this extra help and free me up to focus my language learning.

Yeah for Regina! Can I borrow her at some point? I am so glad you have that extra help while you are in language school friend. What a blessing. Does her cleaning meet the very strict standards of my ocd friend? :) We miss you lots and pray for you often. Give hugs and kisses to the kids from Yaya.

Hey so you get an empliada if you have 4 kids but if you have 5 do you get 2?? 1 can cook and clean and the other can do my neverending laundry!!!
Another reason to love Costa Rica.
did you get hooked up to the internet today??
hugs

When you are finished with Senorita Regina, we could move her back to Thomasville. Let's see....how many kids is that between Tresa, Chris, Trelle, Donna, Leigh and me.........18 by my count. Do you think that would overwhelm her???
I hope this helps you get ahead of Tim on your studies. You know we are routing for you to get better grades than him:)

Hi friend!
I can't tell you how much i miss you :) adam and i love reading your blog. I am so glad things are looking up, i knew they would!
Yesterday when walking around town we saw a travel agency offering to drive people by bus to Costa Rica - it said it took 8 hrs. We were so so excited, but we thought - how is that possible? So Adam asked...yeah, the bus leaves here at 8am....the trip itself is 3 DAYS. HA. Wouldn't that have been a bummer....to get on the bus thinking it was 8 hrs and three days later showing up?!? LOL
Anyways - we love ya, write soon :) we are praying for you all!
love,
Jess and Adam
